Bar Cop - Bar And Restaurant Inventory Scales
|
Control your bar inventory precisely using a scale to weigh your open liquor bottles. Using the point count (eye-balling) method to take inventory has a 15 percent average margin of error, but weighing your bottles cuts that margin of error to about 2 percent. Use a liquor bottle bar scale in conjunction with Bar Cop's inventory software and track where all your profits are going.

Why should I weigh my open liquor and wine bottles?
Weighing your open liquor and wine inventory bottles allows you to track your usage and shrinkage much closer than taking inventory by point count.
What's the difference in weighing open bottles and point counts?
Using a point count for inventory control is an outdated method. Although you can still use this method to count your inventory, the margin of error is very high and an accurate inventory will never be taken. The margin of error of using the point count methode (eye-balling) is between 12 and 15 percent. Weighing your open bottles and using tare weights, will bring your inventory between a 2 to 4 percent margin of error. That can be the difference in tracking the loss of $1000's in retail profits each week due to theft, over-pouring, etc.
How easy is it to use a bottle scale?
Our bottle scales are very easy to use. Just turn the scale on, set the scale to weigh in total ounces, place an open liquor bottle onto the heavy duty platform, and record the total ounce weight. Enter the ounce weights into the Bar Cop inventory control program and let it do the rest.
How do I know how much liquor is in the bottle after weighing?
If you do not have an inventory control program to do the calculations for you, to find the fluid ounces of an open bottle you will need to have the tare weight and density of your products and calculate after the open bottle is weighed. The Bar Cop program performs these calculations for you and allows you to calculate tare weights and bottle weight adjustments at any time with the built in tare calculator.
Why should I weigh my tapped beer kegs?
Weighing your tapped beer kegs allows you to track your usage and shrinkage much closer than taking inventory by shaking and guessing.
What's the difference in weighing kegs & the shake/guess method?
Using a shake and guess for beer keg inventory control is an outdated method. Although you can still use this method to count your inventory, the margin of error is very high and an accurate inventory will never be taken. The margin of error of using the shake and guess method is usally around 15 percent. Weighing your tapped kegs, will bring your inventory down to a 2 percent margin of error. That can be the difference in tracking the loss of $1000's in retail profits each week due to theft, over-pouring, etc.
How easy is it to use the beer keg scale?
Our keg scales are very easy to use. Just turn it on, place tapped keg onto the heavy duty platform (follow the weighing instructions that come with scale) and record the total weight. Instructions on how to properly weigh a keg, to avoid damage and injury, will come with the scale.
How do I know how much beer is in the keg after weighing?
To find the fluid ounces of a tapped keg, you will need to have the tare weight of your keg and then subtract the tare from the total weight. The Bar Cop program performs these calculations for you.
Can I use the scale to monitor a keg continuously?
No. You should never leave the scale in a cold climate at all times. Scales are not made to withstand the cold temperature of a beer cooler for extended periods of time. This can damage the scales accuracy. You should only weigh your kegs at the end of each inventory period and then store the scale in a room temperature climate until the next time to weigh.
Can I use the scale for other purposes?
Yes. The scale is great for heavy weighing kitchen purposes also.
