How It Is Protected

What protects your numbers.

The plain version of where your numbers live, how Bar Cop stops anybody else reaching them, and how you export your numbers back out if you ever need to in the future.

Your Data Is Yours

Export the whole account to one file whenever you want and keep it wherever you like. Cancel and it all comes with you, with nobody to email for a copy.

Saved As You Go

Every entry saves the moment you make it, on every device you sign in on. Lose the wifi mid-count and Bar Cop keeps writing locally, then sends it up when you are back.

Encrypted Both Ways

Your numbers are stored in Supabase, encrypted roundtrip. Every connection runs over HTTPS, and a plain http address is redirected before anything loads.

The Database Says No

Access is refused at the database. Every row is tied to an account, and the rule that lets you read it checks that your login belongs to that account first.

We Never Touch Your Card

Payment runs through Stripe and you type the number on Stripe's own checkout. Bar Cop never sees or stores a card, and it never asks for a Social Security or bank number.

Backed Up Without You

A full snapshot of the account is taken when the owner signs in, and about a month of them is kept. You can create and delete your own restore points at any time.

Restore Points

You can always roll it back.

Take your own restore point before anything big, a bulk import or a price change across the menu, and roll the whole account back to it if the day goes sideways. Yours are kept in their own pool of ten, so taking three in one afternoon never pushes out the daily snapshots underneath.

Bar Cop makes money one way, the subscription you pay. Your numbers are not rented, sold or handed to advertisers, and they are not pooled into an industry benchmark somebody else sells back to you. The value is in what your own figures tell you, and it stays yours.

Cancel your subscription from settings/account/manage billing in a couple of clicks, export the whole account to one file, and walk. Nobody to call, nothing to request. If you want the record gone rather than carried out, Delete This Bar removes it and every backup of it, for good.

Where is my data stored?
In Supabase, a managed database service, on servers Bar Cop does not keep in an office. The app itself runs on DigitalOcean. Nothing lives on the laptop behind your bar, so a stolen phone or a dead hard drive costs you a device and not your history.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes, both ways. It is encrypted travelling between your browser and the database, and it is encrypted while it sits in the database. Every connection to the app is over HTTPS, and a plain http address is redirected to the secure one before anything loads.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Bar Cop makes money one way, the subscription you pay. Your numbers are not rented, sold or handed to advertisers, and they are not pooled into anybody's benchmark. They are used to run Bar Cop for you and for nothing else.
Who on my team can see my numbers?
Only the people you grant, and only the parts you grant them. You either tick Full Access for a whole section or tick just the menu links inside it, and anything left unticked is hidden. Billing stays with the owner alone and cannot be granted to anybody.
What stops another bar seeing my account?
The database, not the screen. Every row is tied to an account, and the rule that lets you read it checks that your login is a member of that account. Hiding a button would be a suggestion; this is a refusal at the layer under the app, which is where it has to be.
Can I cut off access when somebody leaves?
Yes, immediately. Removing somebody from your team deletes the membership that grants them anything, so their login stops being able to pull a single row rather than merely losing the menu. An invite that has not been used yet can be pulled back the same way.
Does Bar Cop back up my bar for me?
Yes. A full snapshot of the whole account is taken automatically when the owner signs in, and about a month of them is kept. Restoring one puts the account back to how it stood that day, and it asks you to confirm before it does anything.
Is my card information safe?
Your card never reaches Bar Cop at all. Payment runs through Stripe, you enter the number on Stripe's own checkout, and what comes back is a subscription status. There is no card number in the app for anybody to steal, because one never goes in.
Does Bar Cop ask for Social Security or bank numbers?
No, and it has nowhere to put them. Your staff records hold a name, a contact, a pay rate and hours worked, which is what costing a shift takes. Bar Cop is a management tool, not payroll or HR software, so the sensitive half never enters the building.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You take it. Export the whole account to one file whenever you like, cancel from Manage Billing in a couple of clicks, and your access runs to the end of the period you paid for. If you want the record gone as well, Delete This Bar removes it and every backup of it for good.
