How to run Bar Cop.
Step-by-step guides for every part of the app. Keep this open in a second window while you work, so you can follow along on your own screen.
how revenue recovery works
Revenue Recovery is where Bar Cop finds the money you are leaving on the table, a soft check average, a menu that is not pulling its weight, servers who could sell more, and walks you through lifting it. It runs on the same loop as Profit: an audit scores you and names the gaps, a playbook explains each one, a fix system tracks the work, and a forecast shows what is coming. The menu and pricing tools underneath are where most of the lift lives. Here is how it fits together.
1. Confirm your week
Everything reads off the weeks you close. Confirm each week so the audit, forecast, and reports have real sales and covers to work from. See Week History.
2. Run the Revenue Audit
The audit scores five revenue areas off the data you already keep and hands you action items ranked by dollar impact, each with a jump straight to the fix. See Run the Revenue Audit.
3. Read the Playbook
The playbook is the strategy behind your fix systems: where the revenue leaks, what each gap is worth, and the exact screen that closes it. See Work the Revenue Playbook.
4. Work the Fix Systems
A fix is a system you keep running, not a checklist you finish. Bar Cop reads your live data and shows whether each one is actually happening. See Run a Revenue Fix.
5. See what is coming
The Revenue Forecast projects each week from your recent sales and covers plus any booked events, and feeds your schedule and pre-shift targets. See Revenue Forecast.
6. Work your menu and pricing
This is where most of the lift lives:
- Build Your Menu, the one place every item, price, cost, and recipe lives
- Menu Rundown, Bar Cop's read on every item and the move that follows
- Menu Engineering, the pricing engine that sorts and reprices your menu
- Dog Test Tracker, a fair 90-day test before you cut an item
- Server Check, every server's check average against target
7. Test your own changes
Launched a new menu item or ran a promotion? Log it as an experiment and Bar Cop measures the before and after. See Run an Experiment.
The honest rule: cost savings and revenue growth are kept separate, never blended into one number, and every figure is computed from your real data. A section with no data reads N/A, never a guess.
