Server Check is where a check average stops being a number about your bar and becomes a number about a person. You log each server's covers and sales for a shift, and Bar Cop turns it into a check average and tracks every server against your target.

Comps pull in from Shift Control's Void and Comp log, and tips from Tip Tracking, so you are never entering the same figure twice.

Logging a check

Pick the date, the shift and the server, enter covers and total sales, and the check average shows live against target before you save. An open shift for that date and service period links itself.

• Every logged check lists in the Server Shift log below the form.
• Edit loads one back into the form to correct it. Delete removes a row.
• Worksheet prints a blank sheet to capture checks on paper during service and enter after close.

If your POS exports a per-server sales report, skip the hand entry. Drop it on this page or at your Shift weekly close and every server's covers and sales land at once.

The file stops on a check screen first, one row per line in your export, and nothing is saved until you press Add there. Same as every other drop in Bar Cop: you see what will happen before it happens.

The window

The chips set the window for the scorecard and the Server Shift list: the last 7, 30 or 90 days, or all time. The team average, the top performer, who is trending down and the spread from top to bottom all reflect the window you pick, so a bad fortnight does not read the same as a bad quarter.

The scorecard

Per server: check average against your target and against the team, covers, sales, comps and tips as a percent of sales, and a trend arrow comparing the last 7 days to the 7 before.

• TOP calls out the leader.
• DOWN calls out anyone slipping.
• Add a coaching note on any row and it logs against that server in Labor Control, where the rest of their record lives.

This is the check-average read, not the theft read. Server Check tells you whose average is where and who is sliding. When you want the register and cash patterns behind a suspicion, that is Sales Integrity, which wants a richer export and asks a different question.
